Down GAA

Walcon was commissioned by Down GAA to design, build, and deliver a permanent yet modular Media Hub for their facilities in Newry, Co. Down. Constructed from repurposed container units, the hub incorporates a broadcast control room, dual commentary booths, and flexible production workspace, all acoustically treated with clear sightlines to the pitch. It arrived pre-fitted with power distribution, structured data and patch panels for cameras, comms and audio, as well as climate control and integrated task lighting. A guarded roof platform provides camera positions and space for RF/5G bonding or satellite equipment, while secure cable management, equipment racks, and lockable service doors streamline matchday operations. The result is a robust, all-season facility that elevates live coverage and content creation, improves operational flow for media teams, and strengthens the Down GAA brand on and off the pitch.
